Dr. Keon is an interdisciplinary educator, researcher, and innovation strategist with over a decade of experience mentoring graduate and professional students across STEM disciplines. He holds a Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the University of Washington, where his research focused on advanced electric propulsion systems for in-space applications. His academic journey is marked by a deep commitment to inclusive education, academic excellence, and community-centered engagement.
While at the University of Washington College of Engineering, Dr. Keon mentored incoming Master’s and doctoral students in science and engineering, helping emerging scholars develop effective teaching practices, research planning strategies, and academic confidence. Through high-touch engagement and culturally responsive pedagogy, he supported students in navigating complex academic environments and building strong foundations for long-term success.

He brings firsthand experience with prestigious funding programs, including the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship and McNair Graduate Fellowship, and was recognized with Honorable Mention by the Ford Foundation Fellowship. Dr. Keon's professional experience extends beyond academia. As Founder of G3I Enterprises and Fractional Chief Innovation Officer at a stealth aerospace startup, he leads initiatives at the intersection of technology, sustainability, and social impact. These roles have equipped him with a portfolio of real-world applications and scientific reasoning frameworks that inform his approach to mentoring clients exploring post-degree pathways, including postdoctoral research, faculty careers, federal laboratories, and industry leadership.
A passionate advocate for broadening participation in STEM, Dr. Keon has contributed extensively to outreach and enrichment efforts through the Washington Space Grant Consortium and Northwest Earth & Space Sciences Pathways (NESSP). In these roles, he delivered NASA-relevant STEM programming and technical communication to underserved communities across the Pacific Northwest. His experiences in public engagement and science communication serve as a valuable reference for clients seeking to expand their own impact through outreach, education, and community-based initiatives.
Dr. Keon is also an experienced academic writer and editor, with publications in both technical research and engineering education. His ability to support clients in academic writing, editing, and research communication is grounded in years of experience authoring peer-reviewed papers and mentoring students through the publication process. He is affiliated with several professional societies, including the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), Tau Beta Pi, and Sigma Gamma Tau, and regularly advises clients on how to engage meaningfully with professional networks and scholarly communities.
