Testimonials, Impact, and Feedback
Another Degree provides holistic support for students and applicants pursuing graduate school and professional degree programs. Our mentorship covers every stage of the journey: determining readiness, identifying programs, writing authentic and successful applications for admission and scholarships, navigating coursework and research, publishing and presenting, and preparing for or pivoting to a rewarding new career.
You might call us graduate school consultants, advisors, or counselors, but we prefer the term mentor. Mentorship reflects the comprehensive support we provide - not only sharing information and developing effective strategies to achieve your goals, but also listening to, understanding, and nourishing the whole scholar. Our mentors help you navigate unfamiliar academic and professional domains with clarity, confidence, and authenticity.
Our unique approach to recruiting, curating, and a collective of mentors elevates professionals with real-world experience. Many have served on selection committees for graduate programs and scholarships, worked as faculty members and principal investigators, directed high profile scholarship and research programs, and guided students as academic or admissions advisors and career consultants.
These mentors are graduates and employees of some of the world’s most prestigious and selective universities, including Harvard University (and Harvard Law and Harvard Medical School), Yale University, Stanford University, the University of Oxford, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Duke University, the University of Southern California (USC), the University of Chicago, the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), Northwestern University, Cornell University, Columbia University, Johns Hopkins University, New York University (NYU), and the University of Washington. They have guided learners to and through programs at these and other high-caliber institutions - and our mentorship network is always expanding.
Several mentors also bring experience in obtaining or guiding students toward competitive fellowships, scholarships, and grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Science Foundation (NSF) - including the prestigious NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF-GRFP), the Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellowship program, Fulbright Programs, the Marshall Scholarship, and distinguished awards from the McNair Foundation, the Mellon Foundation, and DAAD, among others.
