Dr. Erin, Ph.D. is a communication scholar, educator, and mentor with over a decade of experience in higher education and applied academic coaching. She currently serves as a lecturer at California State University, Fullerton and previously spent ten years as an Associate Professor at Concordia University Irvine, where she taught a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses spanning interpersonal, health, and strategic communication.
Dr. Erin earned her Ph.D. in Communication from University of Texas at Austin, and her research centers on interpersonal relationships, health communication, and how individuals and families navigate uncertainty, grief, and resilience—particularly in the context of illness and the COVID-19 pandemic. Her work has been published in leading journals such as Health Communication and Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, and she is an active contributor to national and international academic conferences.
In addition to her academic career, Dr. Erin brings industry experience as a Regional Team Lead and mentor with Mindbase Education, where she supports international students in navigating U.S. higher education systems and fosters intercultural competence. She is deeply committed to student development, mentorship, and building community, demonstrated through her leadership in campus organizations, research showcases, and advising roles.
