Dr. Johanna

Dr. Johanna is an anthropologist, researcher, and academic mentor with over 15 years of experience in human rights, gender equality, international development, and qualitative research.

She holds a PhD in Anthropology from La Trobe University, where her research explored the experiences of former child combatants in Colombia. Dr. Johanna supports students to develop research skills, critical thinking, academic writing, and confidence in exploring complex topics. She has guided students through research projects on subjects including history, culture, politics, gender equality, and social change helping them develop research questions, find and analyse sources, conduct interviews, and present their findings.

Dr. Johanna is also the founder of Project Monma, an initiative focused on gender equality education and empowering young people to explore issues related to women's rights, social justice, and equality. Through this work, she has developed educational resources and supported students to think critically about the social and cultural factors that shape people's lives. Her teaching approach is supportive, engaging, and student-led. She believes that students learn best when they are encouraged to be curious, ask questions, and develop their own ideas. Dr. Johanna is passionate about helping young people build confidence, explore topics they care about, and develop the skills needed to become independent thinkers and researchers.
