I am an IP and Story Development Lead working at the intersection of narrative, culture, and cross-functional creative production in AAA game development. My work focuses on building story worlds and translating complex cultural, literary, and research-driven material into coherent creative systems that support large-scale production and global audiences. I hold a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from UCLA, where my research focused on Arabic-language digital media, cultural analysis, and interdisciplinary approaches to narrative and archives. My dissertation examined digital publications and archival practices in the wake of the 2011 uprisings, with particular attention to how language, cultural identity, and media systems shape one another. This academic training grounded my ability to analyze complex systems, work across languages and contexts, and engage deeply with cultural material. I am also a first-generation college student, and my path through higher education involved learning how to navigate academic systems, define direction independently, and translate intellectual training into opportunities beyond the university. That experience continues to inform how I approach both my career and my work with others. While at UCLA, I worked across teaching, research, and digital humanities. I taught courses in writing, world literature, and media, and mentored undergraduate students in research and analytical development. In parallel, I served as a research and instructional technology consultant, supporting faculty and research teams across more than 20 departments. I worked on projects involving annotation, mapping, data visualization, and digital storytelling, helping translate complex scholarly ideas into practical, audience-facing outputs. I also developed curriculum, workshops, and training materials to support the adoption of digital methods in teaching and research. My transition into industry built directly on this foundation. I now work in game development, where I help define and develop original intellectual property. My role involves shaping story, character, tone, and worldbuilding, as well as creating documentation, frameworks, and guidance that allow writers, artists, and production teams to work with shared clarity. I collaborate across disciplines to ensure that creative work remains coherent, culturally grounded, and scalable. Across both academia and industry, a key theme in my work has been the ability to turn complex knowledge into usable systems. I have built research functions, produced large volumes of knowledge resources, and supported cross-functional teams operating under ambiguity. In practice, this means structuring ideas, clarifying direction, and helping others translate specialized expertise into work that can move forward in real environments. In addition to mentorship, I support students and early-career professionals who are considering graduate study or navigating the transition from academic training into broader career pathways. I am particularly well suited to those working across disciplines or exploring how research, writing, and cultural analysis can translate into professional opportunities beyond academia.
