If you’re thinking about graduate school, you’ve probably realized it’s not just about getting in. It’s about finding your fit, your voice, and your path forward.
That’s where Another Degree comes in. We offer personalized mentorship for graduate and professional school students and applicants. Our platform is designed for future scholars and leaders who want clarity, confidence, and support. If you're exploring degree options, navigating a challenge mid-journey, or making a career pivot, we connect you with mentors who offer thoughtful guidance, experience-based insights, and support in shaping a personal narrative and pathway that reflect your values and vision.
We’re not here to sell you a dream - we’re here to help you build one.
Specialized Support for Graduate Admissions and Beyond
We don’t dabble in graduate admissions - we specialize in it. While many companies focus on undergraduate admissions consulting, Another Degree is built for the far more complex and opaque world of graduate and professional schools. This includes law, medical, business, and research-focused programs, such as doctoral and applied master’s degrees.
We understand the diversity of learners we serve and the nuances between programs across countries, institutions, disciplines, and even departments within the same field. That complexity requires a different kind of structure, support, and expertise, and that’s exactly where we thrive.
Whether you’re:
Returning to higher education after time in the workforce, raising a family, or national service - and if you’re continuing to work, parent, or serve during your program
Pursuing a lifelong dream or professional advancement
Navigating international graduate school applications
Evaluating the return on investment of expensive degrees
We’re here to help you make sense of it all. From choosing between PhD programs to assessing your fit for the growing array of master’s degrees, dual degrees, or professional tracks like the JD, MD, MBA, MPH, MLIS, MSW, MFA, MPA, MPP - and more - the landscape can be overwhelming. Another Degree meets you where you are. We offer strategies that support self-reflection, clarity, and readiness. Our goal is to help you put your best foot forward, hit the ground running, and stay grounded through the long and uneven terrain of graduate school and beyond.

Already in a program? You can book mentorship for:
Research and dissertation coaching
Fellowship, grant, and scholarship support
Guidance on publishing, selecting journals and conferences, presenting, and refining your research questions
Tools and tips to keep your projects organized and on track
Career transition planning for academia and beyond
Whether you’re in or applying to PhD programs, law school, medical school, or master’s degrees, mentors on our platform understand the nuances of competitive admissions, research fit, and long-term academic planning. Support is available throughout your journey, but you decide when and how to engage.
A Different Kind of Support
As the founder of Another Degree, I’ve seen the inside of the admissions consulting industry. I’ve been recruited by companies that I felt overly-prioritized sales over substance. I have seen mentors extremely undervalued, clients misled, and fear too commonly used as a marketing tactic.
These companies often rely on applicants’ unfamiliarity with the admissions process to upsell services they don’t need or to offer guidance from questionable sources. Their main objective is getting you in. And while getting in is no minor achievement, as many of us with advanced degrees know, getting into a program that isn’t the right fit, or where you’re not prepared to thrive, can do more harm than good.
We’re also focused on value. We want you to get into, and attend, the best institution that fits your lifestyle, learning style, and long-term goals. Expensive for-profit institutions are increasing their marketing to attract more students to advanced programs. We believe it’s important to question whether those programs are the best financial and educational choices for most learners. Mentors on our platform can help you explore the full range of options and possibilities.
Another Degree was created to offer something different. Something honest. Something built by scholars, for scholars.
Mentorship from People Who’ve Been There
Mentors on our platform are not salespeople. Most are full-time scholars, professionals, and creatives who have walked the path you’re on. They are where you’re headed and want to support others through mentorship.
Many hold advanced degrees from top-tier institutions. But you might notice they didn’t all start in elite schools or traditional academic tracks. That wasn’t intentional in our recruiting, but it’s not surprising in our results. These are mentors who have navigated uncertainty, unfamiliar spaces, non-linear paths, and steep learning curves. They’ve faced rejection and reinvention, and they recognize the invisible barriers that come with being an outsider.
They offer not just expertise, but empathy. They understand the value of mentorship because they’ve lived it. These are the people you want on your side. They remember what it felt like to be where you are.
More Than Essay Help - We Help You Find Your Voice
Yes, you can book editing support through our platform. Several mentors offer services that include brainstorming, outlining, revision development, copy editing, and proofreading. They have extensive experience helping applicants craft compelling and successful program and scholarship applications. But they’re not here to write your story for you - they’re here to help you discover it.
Graduate and professional degree pursuits shouldn’t just be a means to an end. They’re not only career investments - they’re investments in yourself and your personal transformation. We want you to be yourself through every step of the process. That's why our approach is holistic. Mentors help you clarify your goals, reflect on your experiences, and express your authentic voice in applications. The strongest applications aren’t just well-written. They’re well-lived.
Personal Growth Meets Professional Development
Likewise, we believe academic success is deeply tied to personal development. That’s why mentorship on our platform includes space for reflection, confidence-building, and values alignment.
Whether you’re navigating imposter syndrome, burnout, or big career decisions, mentors are here to support the whole you. Graduate and professional degrees aren’t just career investments. They’re investments in your personal transformation.
We want you to be yourself through every step of the journey. That’s what gives you confidence, clarity, and the ability to stand out - not just in applications, but in your field.
You’re Part of a Community, Not a Commodity
At Another Degree, mentorship is not a transaction. It’s a relationship. We’re a collective of scholars supporting scholars, built on the belief that academic growth is best nurtured through connection, flexibility, and shared experience.
You’re never locked into a single mentor. Our mentorship packages are designed to be used across mentors, so you can build a team that reflects your goals, interests, and learning style. Whether you’re seeking insight from someone in your discipline or outside it, feedback on a specific project or technology, or guidance through a career pivot, you’ll have access to a range of perspectives and expertise.
We care about your ideas, your voice, and your future - not just your stats. That’s why we also offer access to our online community through Whop.com, where you can:
Ask questions
Respond to self-reflection prompts
Get updates on graduate and professional school programs
Access discounts and events
Receive direct support from peers and mentors
Clients who book 5- or 10-session packages with participating mentors receive free access to our Whop board. This allows you to get prompt assistance between sessions. It’s mentorship that meets you where you are and grows with you when you’re ready.
We Give Back
We’re committed to expanding access to advanced degrees, not just for those who can afford it. We believe every promising scholar should be able to access and thrive in graduate and professional programs - the careers they lead to.
That’s why we’re building initiatives to support under-resourced individuals and institutions. For instance:
A portion of revenue from flash classes and other revenue-sharing initiatives is allocated to a fund that supports mentorship for nominated low-income scholars.
We offer our platform tools to affiliated mentors who wish to provide pro bono services.
Seats in our online flash classes will be freely allocated to students in low-income and diversity programs. Contact us for availability.
We have a team of experienced academic program developers and innovative curriculum designers happy to partner with institutions to design custom programs or mentorship packages
If you’re part of an institution looking to support your students, we’d love to collaborate. If you’re an individual who would like to book mentorship but can’t afford it, reach out to info@anotherdegree.com to see how we may be able to help.
Finally, we’re also committed to building an informational ecosystem through blog and social media content. Subscribe to our newsletter and follow Another Degree on YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram for news, tips, and tools to assist you in your graduate school journey.
Ready When You Are
Whether you’re just starting out or deep in the journey, you don’t have to navigate it alone. We’re here when you need us, and we’re ready when you are.
