About

Saina Bijanzadeh works at the interface of chemistry, bioengineering, and computation, where she designs and develops patient-specific therapeutic systems using interdisciplinary approaches.

Saina received her Master of Science in Inorganic Chemistry, graduating with distinction, and focused on the design, synthesis, and characterization of ceria nanoparticles for drug delivery in neurodegenerative diseases.

Her research experience includes the design and development of nanoceria systems, polymer-coated nanoparticles, and kinetic release profiles, along with the application of characterization techniques. Saina has also worked on the design and development of Metal-Organic Frameworks for molecular loading, stability, and therapeutic application.

Her research interest includes the design and development of therapeutic systems for neurological disorders, including the design and development of stabilized formulations of levodopa and nose-to-brain approaches for neurological disorders.

Saina has incorporated machine learning and statistical modeling into her approach, including the development of models for biological signal analysis and optimization of drug delivery systems.

Her research projects include AI-based models for analyzing time-series in EEG signals, which indicates her interest in developing intelligent and patient-aware therapeutic systems, as opposed to one-size-fits-all approaches.

Saina has contributed to several peer-reviewed papers, with publications in the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules and forthcoming in Biomedical Chromatography, and other works in progress on nanomaterial engineering and computational neuroinflammation.

Saina co-founded Sanaience and serves as its CEO, where the brand combines chemistry-based product formulation and interdisciplinary science communication.

On LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok (@sanaience), Saina advocates for systems thinking in STEM and encourages readers and viewers to think critically and rigorously, and meaningfully, about science.

Saina speaks Persian, Azerbaijani, and English, and is currently studying 14 other languages, and views research as a way of making connections between chemistry, neuroscience, materials science, and computation. Her long-term goal is to integrate nanotechnology, AI, and bioengineering into a unified approach that personalizes and transforms therapeutic design and application.
